Gridded datasets

MeteoSwiss offers spatialy gridded data, based on its in situ measurement network data, covering the whole area of Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Gridded data are available in different spatial and temporal resolutions depending on the specific product.

• Available file formats: NetCDF, ASCII or GeoTIFF

• Available coordinate system: Long./Lat. WGS-84 or Swiss National Grid coordinates

• Spatial resolution: Long./Lat: 2.2km, Swiss coordinates: 1km. The effective resolution depends on the parameter, see detailed descriptions for further informations.

• Data costs: Data cost depends on the requested area size in km2 and the temporal resolution of the data. Upon request we can also deliver smaller areas like Cantons or special areas (customer has to provide square coordinates or shapefile for this service). Ask for a quote please.
