Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology MeteoSwiss

Information- and Datamanagement

The Data Warehouse (DWH) of MeteoSwiss is a powerful and extendable infrastructure for the collection, storage and administration of meteorological and climatological data.

The key element is a central optimized database adapted to the requirements of data analysis and information. The data is brought together by a treatment and cleaning process, in order to save the data in a consitent way on a long time range.

The DWH provides a fast and flexible access to high quality data. It is therefore of fundamental importance to produce weather forecasts as well as analyses of the climate.
